....In All The Wrong Places
Last night I deleted my Manhunt profile. I have to confess to having spent way too much time over the last couple of months logged on to that site, and, no offense to some of the sweet and decent folks with whom I chatted there, it really was a royal waste of time (and often self-esteem).
Truth be told, I met John, my last boyfriend, via MH (while we first actually encountered each other on Friendster, it took a chat on MH to spark an actual meeting in person -- although it was a proper dinner date. All my friends only ever heard the Friendster part -- there, the truth is out!). So, I think, subconsciously, I figured I could meet someone like John on MH again. But meeting John through MH was an anomoly (and a blessing), and unlikely to be repeated. Seems 99.35 percent of the guys on MH are either just lookin' to get busy and/or socially maladjusted and/or assholes.
While the Internet proved fruitful in finding a Prince once, it's likely to only yield frogs going forward. And, besides, I'm just getting too old for that shit. So, I have logged off and am moving on.
O Precipício
A random assortment of musings, observations, and photos on my life, experiences, travels -- with a fair amount of strong opinions on politics and society (and eventually some gratuitous sex thrown in...).
